


The Coaches:
Cary Davenport, Tennis Director: Coach Cary has over 40 years of teaching and training junior athletes and has been a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association for more than 30 years.Cary coached the Chicago District Tennis Association Junior Davis Cup Team and has helped many junior players attain state, sectional and national rankings as well as win college scholarships to many Big Ten Schools (Michigan State, Illinois and Northwestern), SEC (Alabama) and the Pac Ten (Standford), and independent Division One school-Texas Christian Univiersity.
Coach Cary is the former Vice President of the Chicago District Tennis Association, past President of the Chicagoland Racquet and Fitness Association and is currently a board member of the USTA South Carolina and The Spartanburg Community Tennis Association.
Coach Cary lives in Campobello with his wife Bridget and his two daughters: Nika (who attends the College of Charleston) and Rina. He has two grown children, Richard, a Lt Colonel in the Army, married with five daughters and Adrienne a professional Tri Athlete also married who has two boys and one girl.
Edgar Rodriguez, Head Professional: Coach Edgar was ranked as high as 65th in the world as a junior player and reached the quarter finals at Wimbleton as a junior. Edgar received scholarship offers from several SEC and ACC universities and currently plays number one singles for USC Upstate. Edgar has trained with some of the finest coaches in the world and has played almost every major junior international tournament. Edgar now lives in Campobello with his wife, Vivianna, and baby daughters, Maria Paula and Violetta. Edgar has a wealth of on court playing experience at the highest levels of competition and is an outstanding instructor.
Javier Tori, Tennis Professional: Javier just graduated from USC Upstate where he played number 2 singles and number one doubles on a full tennis scholarship. Javier was ranked number 2 in singles in the 16 and under division in all of South America and has also played extensive competitive tennis. For the past four summers he has worked at the Furman University Tennis Camp. He also brings a wealth of tennis drills and teaching methods to our players.
